Help us save more lives by becoming a Harmony House foster home!

Our adoption center provides a great environment for our cats, but there are cases when cats are much better served by being in a foster home. We need foster homes to help us with kittens that are too young to be in a shelter setting, kittens and young cats who need a place to go for a week or two before an intake spot at the adoption center is open, and cats whose behavior need more assessment than we can do in a shelter setting. We are always open to fosters applying to adopt their foster cat, but we do not operate a foster-to-adopt program.
Types of Cats in Foster
- Kittens under 8 weeks of age
- Adoption-age kittens and young adult cats (ages 8 weeks-5 years) that are either getting ready for an adoption event or waiting for an intake space at the shelter
- Behavior-evaluation cats that need more assessment than what is possible in a shelter setting (ages 1-8)
We provide the supplies—you provide the love. When you foster for Harmony House, we provide all the food, litter, and veterinary care. All we ask from you is:
– A safe space: A room separate from your own pets (even a bathroom works!).
– Love: Snuggles, playtime, and socialization.
– Insight: Feedback on their personality to help us find their perfect match.
Onboarding involves
- Submitting an application
- Scheduling an onboarding call with our foster coordinator, typically 15 minutes
- Joining our Slack Foster channel once approved!
